Managed endpoint protection

Turn endpoint alerts into action.

Our SOC investigates endpoint alerts during the analyst hours you agree with us. Your contract sets out when we contact your team and who can authorise containment.

Review endpoint coverage

What your EDR agreement covers

Analyst hours
The contract sets the hours when SOC analysts investigate alerts from your enrolled devices.
Customer escalation
We agree which findings require contact, who receives the escalation and what channel to use.
Containment authority
The response plan records what the SOC may do under standing authority and which actions need your named approver.

Which devices are covered, silent or awaiting approval?

Compare the inventory of laptops, servers and operating systems with the endpoint sensors that are actually reporting.

Illustrative coverage review

Reporting device
A laptop sends the expected events. Record the active coverage and the person responsible for the device.
Silent sensor
A remote device has stopped reporting. Assign the coverage gap for investigation before drawing conclusions about its security.
Production server
The service owner must approve isolation. Record who makes that decision and how the device will rejoin and resume reporting.

What happens during an investigation

During the contracted analyst hours, our SOC checks an endpoint alert against the device, user and process history. A sensor can send events while a device is online. The service agreement determines when an analyst reviews them and how alerts outside the agreed hours are handled.

From alert to finding

Analysts check the process that ran, its network connections and any related activity on other covered devices. They record what the evidence supports, what remains uncertain and which action they recommend.

When we contact you

We follow the escalation triggers, contact route and timings agreed for your service. When a finding meets those criteria, we share the affected devices, the evidence and any decision your team needs to make. During onboarding we confirm the primary and backup contacts with you.

Who can authorise containment?

Some customers give the SOC standing authority to isolate specified devices under defined conditions. Others require approval from a named person before any containment action. We follow the authority recorded in your contract and response plan.

For example, if isolating a production server requires the service owner’s approval, the analyst explains the evidence and requests that decision through the agreed route. Once an authorised action is complete, we record what changed and work with your team to restore connectivity and check that the sensor is reporting.

Using an existing endpoint tool

Tell us which product and licences you use. Together we check supported operating systems, sensor health, permissions and the response actions available to the SOC. Your service scope records any exclusions.

The challenge: Getting true value out of powerful EDR solutions

Many security teams discover that in reality they are left with

  • Endless alerts with no context or prioritisation.
  • False positives that eat up time and resources.
  • Missed detections because tuning rules are complex and perpetually evolving.
  • Gaps between the time an alert arrives and the time someone is available to investigate.

How we manage your endpoint platform

We work with your existing endpoint platform where it supports the agreed devices, evidence and response actions.

  • Check sensor health and flag gaps in device coverage.
  • Tune detection rules and review recurring false positives with your team.
  • Investigate suspicious activity during the contracted analyst hours.
  • Record escalations and authorised actions so device owners can see the outcome.

What your team gets from managed EDR

Your team gets an account of which devices are reporting, which alerts need a decision and who owns the next action. Investigation records and coverage reports help you review recurring issues and decide where to improve protection.

Managed Endpoint Detection and Response FAQs

What is Managed Endpoint Detection and Response?

The SOC investigates events from devices enrolled in the agreed endpoint platform. We check coverage, tune detections and coordinate supported actions under the response authority agreed with your team.

How is Managed Endpoint Detection and Response different from antivirus?

Antivirus and EDR can both use behavioural signals. EDR adds device telemetry, investigation history and supported response actions; the managed service supplies people to review that evidence and act under your playbooks.

When do SOC analysts investigate endpoint alerts?

Analysts investigate during the hours set in your contract. During onboarding we confirm those hours, the handling of alerts raised outside them and which devices are in scope.

When will you contact our team?

We contact the people named in your response plan when a finding meets your contracted escalation criteria. The plan sets the contact method, timing and fallback route. We explain the evidence and tell you whether we need a decision.

What types of threats does Managed EDR protect against?

Managed EDR helps stop cyber-attacks that target users and devices

  • Ransomware and encryption attempts
  • Phishing payloads and malware downloads
  • Credential theft and lateral movement
  • Insider misuse of accounts
  • Zero-day and fileless attacks
Who can approve device isolation or another containment action?

Your contract and response plan name the approver and any standing authority delegated to the SOC. Analysts can act within that authority on supported devices. When an action requires further approval, we request it through the agreed contact route before acting.

Can you manage EDR for remote and hybrid work environments?

Remote devices can be included when their operating systems and sensors are supported and can reach the platform. Offline or non-reporting devices are recorded as a coverage gap.

What’s required for onboarding?

Confirm the endpoint tools, operating systems, devices and change windows in scope. Agree the analyst hours, escalation contacts and containment authority. Then pilot the sensor and validate a detection on a representative device.
